RESPONSIBILITIES
Help to provide access to materials and resources for individuals and libraries across the firm.
Current awareness – compile subject specific lists of current or prospective resources in response to internal and external client requests
Acquisitions – research print and online resources including pricing and online access models
Help to negotiate multi-buy discounts with suppliers
Update library management system (LMS) records
Classify print and online resources according to standards and schemes for our different offices.
Maintain and develop cataloguing, classification and authority control lists including subject taxonomies and resource lists
Manage subscription renewal process for print and some online resources, negotiate prices and make recommendations to stakeholders
Support and promote the library management system (LMS) and provide training and support for library staff and business users
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Ideally at least 3 years of relevant experience in an information or library environment, preferably including acquisitions, subscription management and/or cataloguing tasks
Technical expertise in the use of software and online products such as SharePoint, MS Office, automated library management systems (LMS), eBooks and eJournals
Contract or licence management experience is desirable
Experience of delivering training
Solutions focused and a critical thinker
Proactive and pragmatic in managing vendors and stakeholder expectations
